Hunter guide

I will mail all hunters, raid leaders, GM & AGM each week with a list of who is going for the week.

The people on the rota for that week will be expected to do all three instances. If you can't make any of them for what ever reason it is up to YOU to either organize a replacement and/or inform me if you can't find one. Failure to do this will be classed as not turning up for the raid and you may be dropped from the raid table for a week or two.

I will designate a reserve each week who will also be expected to log on for the beginning of the raid, all ready to go should someone fail to turn up. If you are unable to make it as reserve the same applies to you as above.

I will not be doing a rota for Kara or ZA at the moment as no one seems interested in going on their hunter and therefore if you want to go please sign in GC. Don't be put off if another hunter has already signed, I have a spreadsheet with attendances for raids for the past two months and I will decide who is going to Kara based on who went last.

changes meaning just that there´s no skill whatosever involved anymore. Even Ymir can play hunter good now :-P

The thing is, that for some reasons the horde has found a glitch in the game, which means they can sneak into any instance in invisible form on a mission to try to cause trouble. One of their most common ways to do so is to send in a shadow priest who dots every sheep in sight with Shadow word: Pain!

Ofc you know that this explenation makes sense now when you see it, and I expect your apologies for the distrust of my professional approach to my shadowy task to be delivered asap!

Multi-Shot: This ability will no longer strike any secondary targets which are under the effect of crowd-control spells that break on taking damage. i.e. Polymorph, Sap, etc.

So if the sheep, trap, Sap etc breaks, don't blame the hunter!

However, you need to remember that DPS is not the most important thing for a hunter and if you can’t do your other tasks effectively in a raid you may not get invited again.
So, things to bear in mind when deciding what spec to be are:

1. Crowd control. You may need to trap a mob for long periods of time, up to 8mins on Moroes. So make sure you have ways of keeping the mob occupied while your trap is on cool down. Scattershot, Intimidation, Clever Traps (increases the length of time your of your trap) and Silencing shot (when you want a caster to run onto your trap).
2. Trueshot Aura and Improved Hunters mark give an Attack Power bonus to all the raid classes that benefit from it, enabling the whole raid to down a mob faster.
3. As a BM hunter, if your pet dies, you effectively lose about a 1/3rd of your DPS and unless you have points in Improved Revive Pet, it’s a ten second spell to resurrect your pet. In some situations and bosses, a pet may not be allowed.
4. Silencing Shot is great for…well….er….silencing! Very useful on casters.
5. Most importantly, play your hunter how you enjoy playing. As long as you play it well enough to benefit the raid, Beastmaster, Marksman or Survival all have their uses.
