I would perhaps do the 15k xp for the horse if only to make the running around between the quests that little bit faster but play it your way and it's good to have you back and to see you doing the most important thing with the game, enjoying it :)

Getting my PROT-PALLY to level 30 and getting a mount wasn’t the most important thing for me to do, and in-fact I’m still at level 29. I was much more interested and felt a sense of achievement in getting Exalted with Darnasus before level 30, my previous best was level 32.

I’ve already commenced work on my next faction, Exodar – with the aid of wowhead’s database of quests giving reputation. The fact that the first few quests I have to do are grey and will give me about 200 XP when completed (I need 15k not the 1.5k, I thought, to level 30), isn’t a factor. I’m more interested in the 68 rep for Exodar this will give me.

Flameshield: Look at last week!! we killed lots a bosses got great loot, and ppl started to spend their DKP.

Flameshield: well uber leading from lucklass auri (ZA!!! went great thx m8) and myself, but other than thank i think we have setup just the right amount of raids.

Flameshield: My expierence with doing the inv, is that ppl are online and availeble on sun, tues, and wed most often. Also we should have a good mix of raid we have on grind (gruul, maggy, VR soon imo, hydros) And raid where we will get little loot out off yet (wipe fests).

Flameshield: if we make sure we get down some bosses per week, than im sure the loot will be spread out evenly…

Flameshield: Well for instance i got very nice shoulders atm, the t5 are only a little upgrade for me… i aint gonna waste my points on that crab (right stelli ;P) The positive thing bout DKP is that ppl will be selective bout spending it, that gives ppl a chance of good quality items even with little DKP… Now the rly gd items all ppl will roll on and the ppl with the highest DKP wins… now isnt that fair???

Moreso i hate DPK, i hate that ppl let items be nuked, because the upgrade it not big enough to waste point on. I hate to see ppl getting demorolized, cause they are way behind on DPK points….

However in the previous system, i hated it when i was outrolled by someone who came with us for the first time… I hated seeing items go to some1 who didnt rly needed it, y ppl did roll for little upgrades too…. I hated to see ppl get demorolized cause for the 15th time in a row, they didnt get their t4 helmet (itty ea)

Anyway the point im trying to make DKP isnt perfect, nor was the rolling system we had…

I agree with oak, lets use the time we got right after the expansion comes out to get some thing improved. DKP CAP my well be a good addition however… whats the point when everybody has reached their DKP cap? (or maybe should get better raidleaders, that actually delivers u more loot to roll on)

I will say there are things that can be done to reduce the effects of DKP inflation but there not easy to automate with the eqDKP unless we rewrite a large amount of the backend scripts which is not an easy job.

I think the problem with inflation would still be there with a zero-sum-dkp system from the details I've seen. Relational DKP reduces the effects of massive DKP varience a little, but only a little.

In all there is no perfect system, someone will always be left out and to paraphase one of the longest death scenes in sci-fi movies "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few". At the moment eqDKP fills the hole we had, it has many gaps around the edges and things still disappear down those gaps but in all we catch most things.

With the expansion around the corner the DKP issue will go away for awhile as we see how fast we can get to 80. In that time perhaps a few of us can work on something that will be slightly more perfect, plug a few of the remaining holes or at least shrink them a little :)
