So have you done or seen something so noobish you almost wiped from laughing?

Let me start by nominating myself.
The story starts with me seeing in GC a request for a Tank, followed by a comment from Eylowyn to come see her tanking, and a request for a random 5th. So I thought I'd offer…..

1st Noobish momement, After Ethanol had died twice, I asked "What instance are we in?" Assuming the answer was Udgarde Keep, only to hear, "UP", so not the 70-72 instance I thought but the level 80 one.

2nd Noobish moment, realising my holy shock spell key binding was wrong, and those flash heals where infact casting Cleanse.

3rd Noobish moment, seeing in GC that Annalise and Eylowyn had gained the achievment, but I hadnt, so thought I'd done UP and hadn't realised, only to realise of course you only see other members achievments in GC not your own.

I would finally like to thank the Academy, Annalise, Eylowyn, Ethanol, Wildfire and their various pets - for not kicking me after noob mistake number 1 and giving me the chance to gain the hattrick.

Please post your comments of noobishnish, so I won't be the only one atttending the ceremony.

Level 48….having to do lots of running around, finger getting tired using arrow keys - someone mentioned that num lock may help…….doh !

Killing myself (numerous times !) trying to make jump in UBRS. Eventually learned that if was in the right place i could almost step onto balcony

Running back to raid after death and pulling all the bypassed mobs to the main group…..I wish i could say i was on follow with Niffy, I can't (I think she was visiting her damp dark cave looking for loot)

Embarrassingly I have too many to list, but recently (last week) I was questing with Niffy (first mistake) in Sholzaar Basin, we were racing back to Nessingwary's camp to hand in a quest or two, Niffy was just ahead of me and I couldn't help but LMAO as she fell off a cliff.

Five minutes later, on another return to the camp I did the same thing and fell of the same cliff, at the same point, twice!

Zarbons fault I believe.

well the most memerable noobish mistake i made was:

1) Run into Ogrimar at lv 30 thinking it was a tunnel to ashare so i could grind for black pearls, i managed to get to the end of Ogrimar befored dying, when i was rezzed i died 10 times before i was out of Ogrimar again.

2) jumped of alot of clifs trying to get to some ore, forgot i cant fly

3) leveling (1-60) as a holy pali no clue what i was doing, when a mate told me i could unleash some things to gain mana or do more dmg, or to heal.

4) stil making new ones

Hmm let's see, I:

-Taunted the wrong mob in the 4 horsemen fight during switchovers (before we could manage the burn tactic)
-Chased a horde into Cairn Bloodhoof's HQ
-Mounted the wrong (land!) mount and jumped of a cliff
-Leveled a warrior as prot and a druid as resto
-Put up portals to Theramore after a raid instead of Shattrath and later Dalaran (oh wait, that was on purpose :P)
-Used Starfall in a crowded area without reading what it actually does
-Done dungeons with Niffy (/hide :P)
-Mistook a random movement from Ragnaros for aggro and yelled "AGGRO!" on TS back in the day, that was hilarious :P
-Did the same again on purpose because it was so funny

All that comes to mind right now, there's lots more though :P

I did hear about a Pally tank, tanking Razorscale in Holy spec because they forget to change spec. They'd /w me several times before the fight started puzzled by their lack of stats, not enough health, defense, etc. They really couldn't understand what was wrong. They'd checked all their gear and couldn't see what was wrong.

Then the fight started, and they /w me again, "Oops, I forgot to respec!" then "I'll have to see if i can pull this off"

The death was quick.

Maybe they'll own up to this one day. :-)

Only a couple i can think off;

SSC - Stood by the "gap" letting people know to avoid it then fall into it myself ^^

Assigned auto run button to my mouse. It then ran out of batteries when i was using it and i auto ran, then auto swam then auto died of fatigue before i could find a USB mouse.

Biggest nooby mistake was crossing a women. I said lots of strange and rude things in my g/fs guild chat on her char, it ended up with her biting a clump of my hair out :(

Lvl 38 before thinking "what’s them talent points people keep going on about"…..made it so much easier.

Around the same lvl when a toon gave me some money and told me to go to the Auction House and buy some half decent gear…….my reply…."err what Auction House?"

In the early days of WOW I hasten to add……..:)

TBH I have never ever done any noobish things in this game. If you hear some rumours I want to set you straight:

No I have NEVER

- been summoned to Nexus by Enaid while running, and kept running into a billion mob causing an instant wipe
- been so captured by catching rats in Naxaramas so I pulled death over the whole raid group
- done my healing debute with Priestine in VoA of all places, only to notice afterwards that I had not set ONE talent point since they were last reset by Blizzard
- been flying over Wintergrasp by accident at numberous times, catched a parasuite and drifted so far out to sea so I died of fatigue
- caused Olly nervous breakdowns on regular basis running around like a headless chicken unable to understand simple directions on how to get from place a to b
- died of falling off a cliff at numerous times because I thought my land mount was a flying one
- caused numerous wipes because I was running after the mob truly believing they were members of my group

And… if you ever hear that Niffy was stuck behind a mail box for three hours when level 3, making her puppet master so frustrated that she thought of giving up that crappy WoW forever, til she found out that she could hs out of it, you better know that it is all lies!!!

lvled my druid to 16 without any talent or training - till my buddy told me :
lvl 55 i guess in ungoro : autorun , fallsleep and wake up on mj screams " aaaaah " Oops am dead pulled many mobs and stuck between trees

was 70 pvpin in AV - forgot to lock my action bar , so every click cost losin button , end up clickin from spell book " none can beat this "

naxx25 ( guild run ) wrong click ( starfall ) pulled Gluth adds and keept followin me - that moonkin so damn noob

UK guild run ( am tank ) wrong marks ( 2 mobs 1 on front 1 on back ) marked the one on back side ,they laughed at me sayin " good go mj "

stoped markin and didnt give break for mana drink - you can laugh now , done good no wipes

dont remeber who was healer but was resto druid told me " MJ u good but you runnin damn fast m8 "

when gathering herbs like to switch forms ( fly form to caster and back again to fly form ) while flyin , too late to back to fly form and now am kissin the earth dead - happend again when others summonin for ulduar " ptkitman /w how did ya die ? "

After reading some of these Noobish acts of conduct, I think we may have to re-organise our raiding Rota, Olly!!! Some of them don't seem fit to keep us alive or tank… =PP

We wont mention the hunter without arrows in VH a few nights back, or the silly lock that had a lag spike and suddenly found herself sprawled in the mob of lava giants in MC in front of the entire raid. Or the other time when she just wanders straight into the mob with out a care in the world not realising they were there.

Were do we recruit these people? How did they slip into the guild unnoticed?

Due to all the complaints I stopped feeding gnomes to Rex.

He is looking a bit thin at the moment so maybe I can start feeding him the remains of sacrifices.

Hmm playing Seri my hunter a bit recently and been doing some noobish things on her (must be the class). One big noobish thing i did was fighting some dwarf and over aggroed my pet as you do, so I thought haha I will use the disengage button (which i had recently refound on my ui), so eagerly clicking it Seri began to fly backwards through the air away from the ugly dwarf, waya from the ground and over the cliff edge i was standing next to. I think they may had had to peel her corpse off the ground.

Other noobish things done in past when i was just a little nooblet was on my original warrior on runetotem not realising what an instance was until lvl 39, spending talent points in every tree as i thought all the talents sounded good and lvling with a sword and shield cause i found 2 handers were way too slow. Then when original warrior was abandoned and i started lvling serda in teldrassil i grouped with someone to do some quests and they fell off the edge of the tree and me being me i decided to go over and have a good laugh at them, only to follow them over the edge. If anyone has fallen off that tree they must know how annoying it is to find and get to you corpse :(

I also have first hand experience falling out of Teldrassil. It's not fun. I really didn't get talent points for ages,definately had the hang of spec's by lvl 60 though lol. Er other nooby things.. selling my low level quest greens and replacing them with whites from a vendor in Darny because I thought armor was the only thing I needed. That was at level 12 though on my first char so I don't beat myself up about that too much. I'd say I do a lot fewer nooby things than I used to, but that was before this evening when I showed exactly how much of a pro I am at this game by failing really hard on mimron :S I guess the 4 second cast isn't quite enough for me to run 10 yards, even with 30% increased run speed I'm still slower than everyone else >.< Once I realized the first one wouldn't show up on DBM, and that the warning was for the cast not the spell, I got the hang of it, but damn if it didn't take me about 8 deaths. So yeh that was definately one of my noob moments of this year. Oh also when I asked a group I was in not to greed on an item I was needing incase they beat me on the roll.. I thought need meant you had a better chance of rolling high, I didn't realize they were unrelated. That was in a level 80 heroic so yeah, still learning new things every day it seems.

Hmm.. so many to choose from, most of them already here lol.

Forgetting who I'm alted on to and jumping off a cliff and then looking for the flight form button on a rogue.

Bitterly complaining about the drop rate for a quest item when in my first raid ever.

Following the arrow to a town in the Badlands not knowing that it would also point at horde outposts.

Trying to find the 'secret door' in the tram tunnel that I heard about in general chat.. for two days. I was so much more impressionable as a young druid…

Well one thing springs to mind.
I was farming Scarlet Monastery for some reason and picked up loads of rubbish including a grey sword and as I was finishing I saw that someone needed a tank for Heroic Shattered Halls so I joined. I got summoned there before I had a chance to go back to Shat.
I went to pick up the Mage Water and found my inventory full. So I quickly dragged the grey sword to the screen to destroy it so I could get the Water but it didn't work so I did it a second time but this time I got a confirmation box and had to type 'Delete'. As the leader was pushing for the Pull and to get going I just did this quickly without thinking.
It turned out that I had actually dragged the sword onto my character and so equipped the grey sword and then dragged my Epic (which had swapped into that bag position) onto the screen and deleted it.
I then tanked for about 40 mins with a level 35 grey pissed off with the Mage for pulling aggro much more than usual (altho we got through ok).
So not only had I noobishly not noticed what the hell I had done and impacted that on the group but I had also destroyed a superb weapon.
Needless to say I went begging to the GMs after that one…

However at least I haven't done all this falling all cliffs that everyone seems to be susceptible to.
BTW Stelli spends a lot of time up on the cliffs as that is the best place for him to put the sheep when he gets a little frisky.

Well after seeing your honesty, will now admit to my worse noobish mistake.

Picture the scene, 40Man Molten Core, can't recall name of boss (far to traumatic), 8 Warlocks with void walkers at the ready to off tank the bosses voidwalkers.

Suddenly a solitary voidwalker screams 'For honour, valour and epic drops' and charges into the group. Saying 'Ooops sorry' to 39 players after they've been rezzed is not fun'.

Now image how you would feel if less than 2 mins later, you see a solitary voidwalker charging at the boss, and realising it's yours.

Reason? I had a buff / pet attack macro enabled - which I'd forgotten about. Thankfully managed to stop the wayward void at the last second.

Nights nub-story started in the early days.
When I was lvl 13 I was going to kill 'Hogger'. Asked Flamey to help me with his newborn priest and some pali. Killed Hogger, grp disbanded and I found out I didn`t pick up the quest…
Ofc I`ve a very agressive pet even if he`s on passive;) But in Kharazan I left my autoshot on and I managed to pull the grp in the other chambre, gladly I had feign death and the mages died, so it was an acceptable sacrifice.
And my first time in Magtheridon I clicked the cubes to early, not once not twice but so often some druid almost exploded, lol. I hearded Flame say "click the cubes" (in RL) so I did, but never thought about the delay in the mic. Got so many wisps and a RL who was asking: what are you doing?? It`s not me, I clicked on time…it are always the others…
And when I was in Gadgetzan, I wanted someting to drink (lvl68), so I entered the inn and clicked the wrong button and hit a lvl70 horde. He and his friends were really pissed….lol
This is enough for one day:)

Hehe Shelly! I am so glad that someone else than me can make misstakes too! Altho ofc the reason why I never went to dungeons before i was way over level 40 never was because I thought u added your self to looking for people when clicking a meeting stone, then beliving that no one ever used that opportunity anyway and thought ppl just did dungeons with their guild…

Restarts wow - no good
restart comp - no good
reinstall wow inc. 4 hours of patches - no good
repeat above - no good
after 2 days zooms out - there he is:)
