Tips
Here are some tips which I've discovered during my journey to lvl60
- Check out the WoW Europe Warlock Forum here
- Succubus - Wasn't until lvl50 that I realised just how good her dps, crowd control can be, especially if you solo. From about lvl30 on, as you need a good amount of stamina, but mobs drop fast with the combined dps.
- Talent spec - I spent a lot of gold respec'ing as I lvl'd - best one I found was 8-21-23 - , but more importantly I realised you need to experiment, Blizzard changed the rules on respeccing, the cost now drops down, so discover what's best for you, and maybe post a forum message on what you enjoy about it.
The best build for you also depends on your playing style. If you do lots of soloing, you might want to do your damage and get the mobs down as quickly as possible. For that, you might want to put most of your talent points on Destruction or Demonology. On the other hand, if you like to go out with groups or raids, you will have a tank to keep the mobs off you and time to give your DoT's do their damage on big mobs, you might want to go for Destruction or Affliction.
When Blizzard introduced the new minion Fel Guard, which is the last talent in Demonology tree, i switched to demonology. I found it very easy to solo with it through levels 60-70. When i hit lvl 70, i switched to Afflicition and find myself doing a lot more damage in party. But soloing would still be more easy with the Guard.
Warlocks role in party/raid
You are expected to support the group with Health stones and keep someone in the group Soulstoned. That would usually be the healer, so that the group can be rezzed after a wipe. If you do have a paladin or a shaman in group, it would be better to Soulstone him instead of a priest, since they usually stay longer alive than a cloth wearer. Druids have 30 minute cooldown and they need a reagent for rez spell.
Sometimes it has been a good idea to Soulstone the main tank, so that he can battle rez when fighting a boss. That should be discussend with the group in advance. Usually people tend to prefere less running than battle rezzing tank, unless the graveyard is very near and the group is in very early state of the instance.
Warlocks are expected to do heavy damage, and they do too. Most of the spells are DoTs and will keep doing their damage for 15-30 seconds. Because of that, you should not DoT every mob, because the damage will break any crowd control and get the mobs aggro on you. Keep your damage on the main tanks target unless you really know what you are doing or you have agreed to do something different.
Warlocks can cast Banish on demons and elementals, which is your way of crowd control. Keep the demon/elemental banished until the group is ready to go for it. Banish will last for some 30 seconds, so you will have nice time to drop your DoTs and shadow bolts before you need to re-Banish. You can also use your Succubus to seduce a humanoid or cast Fear or Howl of Terror, but using them in instances and closed environment with lots of other mobs around should be avoided.

Warlock class channel
All warlocks are welcome to join the guilds warlock class channel "unitylock". The channel is very useful while talking about Soulstone rotation and deciding about Curse of Elements/Curse of Shadow casting when in raids etc. Also it is an easy way to find online warlocks to get help or advice or just for cursing all the hunters and rogues out there.. ;-)
